LOOP Network Health Monitoring

Last Updated: October 21, 2026 at 08:55 PM EDT

Detects material change on the LOOP Network blockchain in both directions — infrastructure degradation consistent with abandonment, and infrastructure enhancement consistent with active development. Two-phase build: an RPC Trend Monitor that turns the already-live RPC-availability probe into a degradation/stability signal, and a Watchlist DNA Map that turns bounded, targeted on-chain observation of core infrastructure into a development-activity and security-alert signal. Built by the MAKO Posse Team; feeds the planned MAKO Web LOOP health utility.

Design and planning complete as of 2026-07-29: a consolidated two-phase POA&M, a full MAKO Web integration interface for Phase 1, and an intentionally-unfrozen interface stub for Phase 2 are all written. The POA&M was approved by the operator on 2026-10-04, and Phase 1 design was deferred the same day. Approval authorizes no implementation or deployment. No Phase 1 or Phase 2 build has started under this plan; separately, a daily development-activity scan has been running in production and was adopted as "Phase 2-lite", with Phase 2 re-scoped to bytecode, proxy-admin and owner-change detection on a watchlist.

Update from MAKO Posse (2026-07-29)

An onboarding review of prior MAKO Posse and MAKO Website artifacts found one real, live component already in production — the RPC-availability probe (loop-status-watch.php), confirmed via real cron-run log data through July 28 — sitting alongside a much more ambitious infrastructure-mapping utility (DNA Collector) that had never been implemented: five git commits, all documentation, across a 1,154-line ontology specification covering 30+ entity types and 40+ relationship types. A second, planned interpretation layer (DNA Watcher) had no artifacts at all. That mismatch — extensive planning ceremony against zero shipped functionality — was the same pattern already identified and partly corrected in the MAKO-Core governance archive. This project replaces that design with a leaner, two-phase plan: build on the RPC signal that already works, and narrow the infrastructure map to a bounded watchlist scoped for security relevance (authority changes, bridge/relay integrity, new-deployment triage) rather than open-ended, whole-chain discovery. Both phases now have MAKO Web integration contracts published — Phase 1's is a complete, reviewed schema; Phase 2's is deliberately left as a stub until its design settles, so the same premature-specification mistake isn't repeated on the interface side.

Milestones

M1
Baseline reconciliationOnboarding review confirmed what was actually live (the RPC-availability probe) vs. planning-only (DNA Collector, DNA Watcher — zero implementation despite extensive prior design work).
Done
M2
Two-phase POA&MConsolidated LOOP Network Health Monitoring POA&M v1.0: an RPC Trend Monitor (Phase 1) and a watchlist-scoped DNA Map (Phase 2), both bounded to MAKO Posse's forensic/security mission rather than general-purpose chain cataloguing.
Done
M3
SDK Integration Document — Phase 1MAKO-POSSE-LOOP-HEALTH-V1: full JSON schema, atomic-write sequence, freshness and fail-closed rules, and a reference PHP reader, reviewed and corrected. MAKO Web can integrate without reading MAKO Posse source.
Done
M4
SDK Integration Document — Phase 2 (stub)MAKO-POSSE-LOOP-DNA-CHANGELOG-V1: requirement ID and preview field shape only, deliberately not a full schema yet — locking it before Phase 2 design/fixture work would repeat the original DNA Collector's premature-ontology mistake.
Done
M5
Roadmap integrationAdded as stage 10 on the main Development Roadmap; this subproject roadmap published.
Done
M6
POA&M operator approvalApproved 2026-10-04, after the operator reviewed an as-built status update showing an existing daily scan already delivers part of the Phase 2 mission. Approval authorizes no implementation or deployment on its own.
Done
M7
Phase 1 build — RPC Trend MonitorParse the existing probe data into rolling 7-day windows; classify IMPROVING / STABLE / DEGRADING / CRITICAL against operator-approved thresholds. Design start deferred by the operator 2026-10-04 — not yet authorized to begin.
M8
Phase 1 Site5 deploymentActivate the Trend Monitor on Site5 cron; separately authorized per the MAKO Posse charter.
M9
Phase 2 design, fixtures & bounded live pilotFinalize the watchlist seed set, prove detection (bytecode change, admin/owner change, new-contract-from-known-deployer) against synthetic fixtures, then a small-scope, separately authorized live read-only pilot.
M10
Phase 2 Site5 deploymentRecurring watchlist revalidation activated; MAKO-POSSE-LOOP-DNA-CHANGELOG-V1 promoted from Planned to Proposed with a full schema.
M11
MAKO Web handoffBoth interface contracts proven live; MAKO Web integrates the health/trend and change-log signals into the LOOP health utility.

Relationship to MAKO Web

This roadmap covers the MAKO Posse Team's own build work. It does not yet appear as a live feature on the site. Once Phase 1 (and, on its own later timeline, Phase 2) reach their acceptance gates and the corresponding interface contract is live and proven, the MAKO Web Team integrates the resulting signals into the LOOP health utility — following the same request/answer/POA&M handoff pattern already used for Contract Scan, and the same producer-owned interface-registry convention already established by MAKO-WEB-LOOP-RPC-STATE-V1.
